Christmas in April

Just a couple of Christmas layouts to share today. Again everything used in these layouts is from the December kit from Scrapbook Sussies. The first one uses American Crafts Christmas line, and the second uses Crate Paper's Christmas line.

Sounds like it's going to be cold and rainy here this weekend, so it will be a good scrapping weekend !

A Little Late

I know Easter was a few weeks ago, so I'm a little late with this post, but I still wanted to share a couple of Easter cards I did. The March kit from Scrapbook Sussies had BoBunny's Flutter Butter line in it. The colors were perfect for Easter cards. The stickers are from their Abbey Road line that I just happen to stumble upon at HobbyLobby for 50 % off and they matched perfectly.

I also did a few layouts with this kit. The first is a pic of the girls at my brothers wedding, and the second is of the family of baby bunnies we had living in our front yard last spring. Poor Jeff happened to stumble on them last year when he went to trim the grass around the flower bed and they all shot out the hole at him, luckily he didn't hit any of them with the trimmer.

Back to watching the Brewer game now, they're a few innings away from sweeping the Pirates, and Prince finally hit his first homer of the year. I love baseball season !

My Scraproom

I said I would share some pics of my scraproom, so here they are. The quality of the photos is kind of low, it's a small room with a lot of stuff in it, so it was hard to get good shots. The first couple shots here are of my main workspace. I keep a lot of stuff that I use all the time right on the desktop for easy access. I also love having the window right in front of me, it provides great natural light and when I get stuck on a layout I can just stare outside and forget about it for a little while.

On the opposite side of the room is another desk, a smaller desk that I used to keep my tools(cuttlebug, slice, xyron machine, zutter) on. Underneath is all paper collections, when I get a monthly kit, or buy a collection, I try and keep everything together(paper, embellishments) and those ziploc bags work perfect for that. The bags are even big enough that I have certain 12x12 albums that I want to use with particular papers, and the album fits in the bag ! Above that desk is a lot of random storage.
More storage over on this wall, most of the paper in these is what I'm currently working with, or set aside for a particular project. And of course the all important tv, I love having movies on in the background while I scrap !

My favorite part of my room is the rug, it's hard to tell from pictures but it's really soft and plush. Powder lays there all the time while I work, and she didn't want to move while I was taking pictures (she's also in the picture above, she just doesn't like to be far from where I am)

That's my scraproom, I must say that I have been far more productive since it's been clean. I can only hope that it stays that way.
Busy weekend coming up again, Kara's bachelorette party is Saturday, and I struck gold in the dollar section at Target yesterday with all kinds of goodies for the girls, so I can't wait !!

A Little Bella

I recently joined a new monthly scrapbooking club called The Scrap Room, and was super excited that in my first's months kit was some of Bella Blvd's new collection Man of the House. I love the new products Bella has added in their collections, and that the papers are now double sided. Everything in this album is Bella except for the brads, and I still have a ton of it leftover for some layouts and cards. It was a fun album to make since I went back through all of the pictures I had since Jeff and I had started dating to choose which one's I wanted to use, so I got to reminisce a little. The album came together so easily once I chose the pictues, and I decided to try distressing for the first time and really like the way it looks with the chipboard, gives it more of a guy feel.

Well I am off to our first Brewers game tonight. It's an exhibition game, but I am still excited.
Go Brewers !!

Wedding Gifts

So as I've mentioned a few times now, Jeff and I are in the wedding of our good friends Kara and Jordan, and a few weekends ago was Kara's bridal shower. I knew right away what part of her gift was going to be. As soon as I saw this line introduced by My Mind's Eye, I knew it was perfect as the damask pattern on the album and paper is the pattern for her wedding. These little photo cubes were actually a decoration for the shower, and super easy to make. The paper is flocked, so it has a little fancier feel, and I added just a little pink paint and ribbon.

For the album, I know one of the first things people always ask is to see the pictures, and since it usually takes a while to get your pictures back, I wanted her to have a little brag album where she could take the proofs and show them off to people right away. I wanted to keep the album simple with the main focus being in the pictures. All the black and white paper is My Mind's Eye, all of the pink paper is DCWV.

On a side note, I finally got my scraproom clean. It was so bad for a while that I had started scrapping out in the living room, which is ridiculous since I have 12 feet of table in my scraproom, I just couldn't find it buried under all the mess. Later this week I will share some pics of my space, since I am actually proud of how it looks again !
