So during the 4th of July weekend, my brother, sister in law and I all went swimming, and had a blast playing around with my underwater camera. Now I know I'm supposed to be scrapping 2009 pictures so I can get caught up, but I couldn't resist. These pictures were perfect for Bella Blvd's All Inclusive line, so instead of layouts I decided to make a mini album. I used acrylic paint on the pages to add just a little background, and all of the buttons and most of the stickers have glossy accents on them to give it a kind of watery (not sure if that's a word) feel. I was really happy with how it came out, and decided glossy accents is my new hot item. I'm trying to find more ways to use it on my layouts. Right about now, I wish I was back in the pool where these pics were taken. It is hot and humid here today, and tomorrow's supposed to be worse. Add that on top of volleyball tonight and softball tomorrow will make for a sweaty couple of days. Yuck !!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did, we just kind of relaxed and caught up on stuff around the house. Oh and I almost forgot, Jeff won his race on Friday !! Woo Hoo !!
I have a few more layouts to share today. This first one I just found out is the creation of the week over at the scrapbook express forum ! I used Basic Grey's Max & Whiskers line, I love the color combo on this line.
This is some pics from the Chicagoland Bike Show. The top left is me sitting on my dream bike. Pretty sure it will stay a dream as I can't see ever spending that much money on a motorcycle. This is Jeff and I at state fair last year, which is coming up again soon, I can't wait !! Last one is my SIL Jamie and I at my Mom's 50th B-day party. We did a martini cruise on the Milwaukee River, which was so much fun, we are going this friday on a margarita cruise !
One more quick scrappy note, I am going to be the guest designer for the month of August at Scrapbook Sussies. I can't wait to get my hands on this months kit, check out these sneak peeks to see why ! Be sure to check out their website and sign up if you're looking for a great monthly kit club to join !
Well this time the long delay in posts wasn't all my fault. A few weeks ago our computer gave us the "blue screen of death", as I call it and we were so busy it took awhile to get it back up and running. Thankfully nothing was lost ( I think I would have cried if I lost my pictures), but I have to get better at transferring stuff to the external hard drive in case this happens again.
We have still been busy, busy, busy. Our fourth of July was great as I hope all of yours were. We saw the local fireworks and parade, then finished out the night at the Carrie Underwwod concert !! This was my second time seeing her and she was just as great as the last time. It really got me in the mood for country thunder, which is only two weeks away ! I can't wait, 4 days of almost non-stop country music, camping, and a great group of friends to share it all with.
I have managed to get a little scrappy stuff done lately, but I'm still waiting for my rainy day to get more done. Here's a few layouts I recently did. Another snowmobile layout, this time using Crate Papers Brook collection.
These pics I love, when Powder was a puppy she would chew the toilet paper right off the roll, and I happened to catch her in the act once.
Me & Kara up north by Larry the Logroller, he is somewhat of a northwoods legend, kind of like Paul Bunyan. I used BoBunny's Roughin It line for this one.
And me & Mom at my brothers rehearsal dinner last year. This is BoBunny's Kitchen Spice line.
Off to another race tonight, let's hope we come home with a win !
So, I thought when Kara's wedding was done, I would be able to catch up om my scrapping and have time to relax, however I seemed to forget that with May comes the start of volleyball two nights a week, softball one night, and the racetrack. For example this past week we had gone up north for the holiday weekend, got home Monday, I chaperoned my sister-in-law's third grade class to the zoo (which was a blast, but exhausting) played in two v-ball leagues on Tuesday, back to work Wednesday and played v-ball, softball on Thursday, Jeff raced on Friday, and I had a bachelorette party in Lake Geneva on Saturday. Needless to say, Sunday was spent catching up on sleep. I did manage to do a couple of layouts throughout all of that, but haven't taken pics of them yet.
I did score a huge deal on stamps while I was up north. We have these shops called the liquidators, and they are kind of like a big rummage sale but everything is new. If you have the patients to sift through things you can find some good deals. I got both of these autumn leaves clear stamps sets for $1.29 each.
I also snagged a few picture frames and a sign to try and alter for around $2.00 each.
Now I have to share a few of my favorite photos from our weekend up north.
Sorry, that was a lot of photos but I couldn't decide which to leave out. I do have just one more pic from the field trip to the zoo. How cute are these kids :)
Kara and Jordan's wedding was this past weekend, yes it was on NSD, I tried to get her to change it but she wouldn't :) Everything went perfectly, she looked beautiful and they both were so happy. Here are a few random photo's I took, I can't wait to see the professional pics soon.
Needless to say I did not get any scrapping done with the rehearsal on Friday and the wedding on Saturday, but the wedding was such a blast. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect paper to scrap these pictures. But I have to finish 2009 first, my goal was to have all the year scrapped by the end of June and then spend the rest of the year doing prior years, I'm running out of time and I'm just a little over half way done. Time to get cranking, hopefully I'll get a rainy weekend here where I won't feel guilty staying inside and scrapping :)
