Last Gossamer Blue January Layouts

Just a quick post today to share the last 2 layouts I finished with the January Gossamer Blue kit.  This first one I incorporated some Crate Paper embellishments I had laying around, but the paper, twine, buttons, epoxy dots, and the alphas were all from the kit. The pic is from our most recent road trip this past summer.
For this one I used just the kit, and it seemed like family was the theme I wanted to scrapbook this day as these 2 share similar titles. I don't worry about looking repetitive too much since they'll be in chronological order in my albums and these are from months apart. This pic is my Mom, SIL, and myself from my one of my SIL's baby showers.

I hope to have some project life to share soon.
Thanks for stopping!

More Gossamer Blue Layouts

I have two more layouts from January's Gossamer Blue kit, and I really need to get a move on it since February's kit showed up today! Again with both of these I used nothing but the main kit and the bits & pieces add on. This first one is from last Valentine's Day just goofing around with some photo booth props. The enamel dots are I think my favorite new embellishment, they go with every layout!
The second one is more of the carnival theme again. This was actually this past September at our local Lion's fest here in town. For some reason we always have to play the claw machine and I won this time. Toby loved the stuffed elephant I brought home for him.

Be back tomorrow with the last two layouts from this month!

Gossamer Blue Kit Club

So towards the end of last year I started looking for another kit club to join. I was still getting and am currently still getting the kit from The Scrap-Room (which I love) but was looking for something a little different. I had been hearing about Gossamer Blue from other scrappy blogs that I follow and decided to check them out. Boy am I glad I did. I signed up in time to get their January kit and also bought the bits and pieces add on. Plus I received an email from their awesome owner Lori who told me I could purchase the December kit for the subscriber price so I snatched that one up too. I have been able to get 6 layouts from the January kit already! Five of which used nothing but the kits, I didn't dig into my stash for anything. What I loved about this kit and what makes it different from clubs I have belonged to in the past is that EVERYTHING goes together, no matter what manufacturer, product line, etc. I had kinda gotten into a rut where when I pulled out my stuff for a layout I only would grab paper and embellies from the same product line. Don't get me wrong, I still loved how my layouts came out but I wanted to mix it up a bit. This kit let me do just that, I didn't even look at who the manufacturer was when putting these layouts together, if I thought it matched I used it.
I've got 2 of these layouts to share today. This first one is of a couple of photo strips that my friends and I took at the State Fair a few years ago. The pics had been hanging on my fridge but since it drives my Mom crazy how much clutter is on my fridge I decided it was time to take them down and scrap them. I love the carnival theme that some of the papers have, so much fun especially the mustaches!
I'm trying to get better at recording more of my day to day stuff, not just events and such so this is my first layout attempting to do so. I honestly don't know if I was more excited to use my new Polaroid camera to take the picture or to take my new running shoes on their first run. Either way I'm glad I took the extra couple of seconds to take the picture.
Be back tomorrow with a few more layouts to share!

I'm Back!

So I know it's been a looooong time since I've had a post on here, but it took awhile to get adjusted to a new place, and get a routine down now that I'm living on my own. Things couldn't be better now and I've finally settled in on a routine. I've been able to keep scrapping all along and have a couple of layouts to share today.
These are both from New Years 2011 (yes, I'm that far behind), and they are both based off of sketches from Sketch Support which unfortunately no longer exists. The single page is the first page of my album for 2011 and is a good representation of the rest of the year. Great friends having a good time. The girls decided we were all dressing up that year, our goal was to look like disco balls hence all the sequins. We were actually surprised when the guys wanted to dress up too.
I used all Bella Blvd for this layout.
The 2 page layout is a summary of the rest of the night, my favorite being the 4x6 collage of photos on the second page, and I used some SEI papers from the SEI kit club that I once belonged to.

That's all for now, but I have lots more to share so expect to see me posting much more often! I also started doing Project Life this year so I have some of that to share as well.

If I'm dreaming please don't wake me !!

I have soooo much exciting to news to share today. First up check out this post over at The Scrapbook Store blog. Yep that's right I am a guest designer for the next six months !! Please ignore the dorky picture though, I just couldn't seem to take a good one that day. I can't wait to get started over there, and can't thank the ladies there enough for giving me this awesome opportunity. Here's some pics of two of the projects I submitted.

On a not scrappy note, I'm moving !! Been finalizing the details and I'm going to be closing on a condo on April 5th. I can't wait to get over there, I've already planned out where my scrapbook area will be and I'm going to have so much more room to create a mess. Haha
That's all for now, I hope you all are having as much good luck as I've been having lately !
Thanks for stopping !

A few more layouts to share

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did. I even had a mini crop with my sister in law on Saturday and got quite a bit done.

This first layout is based off of a sketch I got with one of my Scrap-Room kits, and the paper and most of the embellies are Jillibean Soup. I just love these pictures, if you watch baseball at all you know Milwaukee is known for it's racing sausages at home games. Well at our local hockey games we have racing cheese, like the title says, only in Wisconsin :)

For this one, I was really glad to have found pictures to match the papers. I'm not much of a vintage girl, while I love the look of it, my pics just never seem to match it. I received the Crate Paper Restoration line in another Scrap-Room kit and just didn't know what to do with it. I then found these pics of the first snowmobile I ever drove, printed them in black and white, and they were a perfect fit. It also gave me an excuse to use my Heidi Swapp edge distresser too.

Lastly just a fairly simple layout of a friend and I up north. I really like the background paper by October Afternoon and wanted a lot of it to show, so I didn't add too much else.

That's all for now, thanks for stopping !!

2 Page Layouts

When I first started scrapping, all I did were 2 page layouts and a little over a year ago I started doing mostly one page layouts. Looking through my pictures, I realized I needed to do some more two pagers, because I was eliminating too many pictures. I came across this great site, sketch support that has 2 page sketches and it was just what I needed to get back into the swing of 2 pagers. The first 2 I used sketches from the site, the last one is not based off of a sketch but I used the general idea of their sketches to create it.
That's all I have for today, I'm getting a much needed haircut tonight and can't wait. Maybe I'll post some pics of my new 'do.
Thanks for stopping !!
